The 2025 Go Developer Survey Is Now Open — Share Your Experience

The Go team has officially launched the 2025 Go Developer Survey, the annual initiative that shapes how the language evolves. Each year, responses from developers across the globe directly inform how the Go team prioritizes engineering efforts, identifies friction points, and plans the roadmap ahead. If you've ever wondered how your day-to-day experience with Go influences the language's direction, this is the mechanism.

The survey is open now and will remain available through September 30th. Expect to spend between 10 and 20 minutes working through it — and since every question is optional, you can focus on the areas most relevant to your work without feeling obligated to answer everything.

Results will be published in aggregated form on this blog in early November. What's new this year: the Go team will also release the raw response dataset, giving the broader community the opportunity to run independent analyses and draw their own conclusions from the data. This approach mirrors the transparency model already established with Go Telemetry — participation is strictly opt-in. The survey will explicitly ask for your consent before including your responses in the public dataset. Decline, and your answers stay private.

Broader participation means richer, more representative data. If you work alongside other Go developers — whether on a distributed team, in open source communities, or in local meetups — passing the survey along meaningfully improves the quality of insights the team can act on. The more diverse the respondent pool, the more accurately the results reflect how Go is actually being used in production environments worldwide.

The Go team is looking forward to hearing what's working, what isn't, and where the language should go next.
